Soldiers were given a little something extra for the Holidays as the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders performed their Annual Christmas Concert sponsored by the United Service Organization Dec. 29 at Carey Gym on Camp Casey.
The concert was a Vegas-style dance show with lots of costume changes and music ranging from country to hip hop, all to entertain Soldiers and uplift spirits during the holiday season.
Tough to concentrate on fighting with those pom poms in view
It’s usually the UCLA Cheerleaders that get a rise out of me and the rest of the nation. But I have to say that the Golden Bears squad can certainly hold their own.
And if you read their story, I’m quite impressed at how they evolved. The team went from a crazy men and women squad to one that now performed on an elevated piece of wood (insert sex joke here).
Now if only they get a pole in the center of that platform we’d have something.
remember the USFL? Although the league only lasted from 1983-1985 it was the only league to even remotely compete with the NFL. And yes, they had cheerleaders!
In fact, this classic video shows a tryout for the Wranglers. You gotta love the music.
Even though the Wranglers only went 4-14 that season, I’m sure fans had reason to be happy with these ladies on the sideline.
2008 has seen its fair share of stories. Amongst some of your greater stories are obviously the hotties that came along with the year. Take Shannon James up top for example. Clearly she’s the best thing to happen to Philadelphia in a very long time. And clearly I need to run into the other room for a minute.
Holidays are a great time to cheer, don’t you think? And given that most of you are just starting your returns home, why not keep you in the festive Christmas mood?
Who better to help the transition back to the real world than Cheerleaders in Christmas gear? OK, I have nothing important to say here. Seriously, it’s an extremely slow time of year and there’s too much egg nog in my system to compile a decent sentence.
So here are Christmas cheerleaders from a bunch of different leagues
For those of you living in England, the British Basketball League can’t be all that great. I can’t imagine that the players are all that talented and from an entertainment standpoint, the one thing they got going for them would have to be the female side of things.
Let us take the Guilford Heat for example. Their ladies, also called the Guilford Heat Honeyz remind me why I always wanted to get with a Brit. You got the accents, you got the bodies, you got it all. And if they’re anything like the Lucy Pinder and Rosie Jones’s of the world, then you’re really in for a treat.
Ah yes, to be a UTA Maverick male cheerleader. You see, most people rag on male cheerleaders. I will never do that anymore. There’s no reason to make fun of a guy who looks up skirts and pretty much holds chicks by their, you know, things for hours on end.
Plus when you see the folks at UTA, it seems like they like to take the spirit off of the field as well. From beaches to clubs, these UTA folks know how to enjoy themselves. And it’s safe to say I would know how to enjoy myself with these ladies.
